Originally from Christchurch in Dorset, Abigail is a flautist and teacher currently residing in Gloucestershire.
Abigail studied under the internationally acclaimed flautist and composer Ian Clarke, former Principal flautist of The London Symphony Orchestra, Nicholas Vallis-Davies and has participated in masterclasses with Clare Southworth, Michael Cox and Paul Edmund-Davies.
During her studies, Abigail was the principal flautist in The Wessex Youth Orchestra, The Dorset Youth Orchestra, The South West Youth Orchestra and bassoonist in The National Youth Focus on Chamber Ensemble performing under conductors such as Marin Alsop, Greg Beardstall and the late Don Riddell MBE.
After attaining her Licentiate Diploma at the age of 18, Abigail was offered a scholarship from The University of Southampton where she graduated 4 years later with a Master of Music Degree under the tuition of Baroque flautist, Katy Bircher.
Alongside teaching, Abigail has performed in several chamber ensembles and musical productions and is currently working on a series of solo flute recordings.
In her spare time, Abigail enjoys taking to the skies as a Private Pilot Licence holder and particularly enjoys turning the world upside down with her Aerobatics Rating! In 2015 she was awarded the Red Arrows Bursary which she used to complete her Night Rating. Abigail is currently embarking on a new composition project aiming to capture her experiences of flight utilising modern and alternative flute techniques, exploring the vast range of sounds and colour that the flute can produce.
